Biology researchers do measuremnts of organic tissue by hand. This is very time consuming, and results in having low amounts of statistical data

A consequence of manual labor is that the measurements aren't done in the same way from one biology institute to another. So they cannot compare results with each other.

The Orvis Group was given the task of solving this problem. By using computer vision to do all measurements and displaying the results things would be more standardlized and thus allow for biology researschers to compare there results with each other.

OrVis3D is a program that takes frozen slices of a chickens heart and measure it's wall thickness.
